To be a Re-L Girl
There was darkness. All around her. Consuming her. Reaching down inside her. Somewhere off in the distance familiar noises reached herthe creak and groan of their ship, the constant roar of their thruster, the whirling howls of the windbut they sounded muffled and distant, as if she was hearing through cotton-stuffed ears.
Re-L Mayer huffed and sat up. At least, she tried to. Her exasperated breath never made it to her mouth. It never made it out of her lungs. As for the sitting up, she didn't so much as twitch.
